The following 10 points are incorrect dog training methods, and we hope everyone can avoid them during regular training.
1. Resolutely eliminate corporal punishment. The method of forcing dogs to obey through physical punishment is the worst. Like any animal, dogs have a very strong sense of vigilance towards humans. From the perspective of a dog, being beaten or kicked for unknown reasons can only create the impression of being abused.
2. Although your dog may make you angry, don’t shout at it just because it doesn’t listen, as it can only make the puppy more confused.
3. Don’t chase the dog. That will make mischievous dogs more excited, and make timid dogs dangerous due to excessive fear. Attention: Especially on the roadside, it can be more dangerous for you and your dog.
4. Don’t force a dog that can’t understand commands for a while, high pressure may cause it to develop a bad mood of self abandonment.
5. Do not blindly pull up the neck chain or dog leash. This can harm the dog’s neck and in severe cases, even pose a life-threatening danger.
6. Although your dog may break your expensive glass when mischievous, don’t keep it alone in a small, dark space. Space phobia is not only present in humans, but also in dogs, and it can be even more frightening than you.
7. Don’t punish the dog that caused trouble afterwards. A dog’s memory is not as good as anyone’s. It will wonder why you suddenly bark at it. If you want to educate and punish your little dog, remember to “catch the current situation”!
8. Don’t punish your little dog by cutting off food and water. This goes without saying much. Just think about your childhood: do not do to others what you do not want to do to yourself~
9. Reject suggestions that may jeopardize your intimate relationship with your beloved dog, even from close friends.
10. When encountering unpleasant things, don’t take your dog as a vent. Key point: Through scientific and reasonable training, dogs can fully become popular family members. Training should not and cannot be achieved through simple physical punishment and food rewards. The deep affection and understanding between dogs and their owners are the key to successful training.
