The equipment for jumping over includes a circle frame, a platform, a large board wall, a three-level platform, etc. The specific training method for jumping over is as follows:
1. The trainer first leads the dog with a rope, and first makes the dog sit about 3-5 steps in front of the platform, and then a third person helps to lead the dog. Then the trainer climbs onto the platform with one end of the rope, calls the dog to come, and gives the command “up”, tightens the training rope and pulls it upward to force the dog to jump, and the third person also supports the dog from below to help.
2. After the dog reaches the platform, reward it immediately. Then take the dog down the stairs and reward it again. Throwing food on the platform to lure the dog to cross can also achieve good results. But when the dog dares to jump over, the force and lure should be gradually reduced and cancelled, and only commands and gestures should be used for command. In the early stage of training, in order to make it easier for the dog to jump over, the slope of the fish scale board surface of the platform can be enlarged, and then gradually steepened. The training method for jumping over a large board wall is basically the same as the training method for a small board wall, but the wall board should not be too high at the beginning of training, about one meter is more suitable. Later, as the dog becomes more proficient in jumping, the length will be gradually increased to two meters. The training method for jumping over a three-level platform is basically the same as the training method for a platform, but during training, the dog should be able to jump over three levels in one go.
Notes:
During jumping training, the dog rope should be as long as possible because the trainer has to get on the platform first.
